Our dog really enjoys her food. Especially her treats and gets very excited when she knows she is about to get some choc drops.
A while ago she taught me a lesson about priorities. While being given a few – one at a time – one fell on the ground. I expected her to turn away from my hand and look for it, but, although it was clear she was aware it had fallen, she absolutely ignored it and continued to take what was left in my hand. Only once all were finished did she immediately look for the one that had dropped.
It went through my mind how important it is to enjoy the moment, to celebrate what we have – not what we did have, could have had or are going to get.
