Tongan Congregation

History 

The Tongan Congregation started in 1998 with 5 families (listed below). Growth amongst the community and migration into the Waikato region have seen steady expansion of the Tongan congregation to now over 15 families in 2021. Our congregation seeks to contribute to the Parish's key objectives and vision taking part in a broad set of opportunities and initiatives that achieves positive holistic outcomes.

  • Tupou family (Paunga, Monalisa & children)

  • Molitika family (Moala, Melema'u, Haloti, Lusila & children)

  • Finau family (Samiu, Nola & children)

  • Folau family (Kofiki, Piuela & children)

Our Vision

  •  To empower families of the Congregation through worship and other programmes to become disciples of Christ.

  •   To strengthen our own identity and culture and at the same time embrace other cultures in the Parish.

  •   To encourage good education, improving standard of living and healthy living.
