Call to Worship

Lord we have not come to sing hymns

We have not come to say prayers

we have not come to be with each other.

Lord we have come simply to worship,

We have come to acknowledge your worth,

We have come to offer adoration, thanksgiving and praise.

Lord please listen to our songs,

Receive our prayers,

And enjoy your children worshipping together,

But, these are only the vehicles of our heartfelt praise and adoration

As we worship you In Jesus Name, Amen. David Clowes

We plough the fields and scatter (cover) 2;05

I give thanks for our granddaughter, Alisa Tofatu’utasi Faitotoa

born 19 Jan 2020, here in Hamilton at the St John’s Parsonage.

Thanksgiving Prayer written in 1994 for baby Alisa’s Mum ,

still appropriate for baby Alisa.

Father God from whom all blessings come

Blessed us with a gift on the 15th March 1994.

A gift so wonderful, beyond what my heart can express

A child created in his image, to follow his ways.

“The cords of death entangled me…..

The cords of the grave coiled around me “….(ps. 18vs 4,5)

I pushed with all my might and felt helpless

No sign of our inner being

“In my distress I called to the Lord “ v6

Lord please help me, I can’t push anymore.

Encouraging cries of support from Tau & Mum,

Then she was out and in the next breath

In my oblivious hands.

What a beautiful child, tiredness aside I wept and cried

Thank You Father !

Tears were in her daddy’s eyes.

A beautiful daughter with lovely black hair

Piula Perenise Deborah

We welcome you here!

“He brought me out into a spacious place

He rescued me because he delighted in me “vs 19

We feel so privileged.

Thank you Lord, for lifting our hearts with such a blessing

A blessing that only you can give.

Who are we to be blessed in this way.

We praise your holy Name.

Father as we commit this blessing into your hands,

May you be her guiding star.

Give us as parents,

Wisdom, understanding and the joy

To share with Piula.

May she follow your ways

And one day say

“Here am I, send me.”

May our continual prayer and reading be

“You O Lord keep my lamp burning

My God turns my darkness into light

With your help I can advance against a troop

With My God I can scale a wall.”        v 28 & 29.

Stewardship Sayings

There can be no doubt that this possessive clinging to things is one of the most harmful habits in the christian life. Because it is so natural, it is rarely recognized for the evil that it is. But its out workings are tragic.     A. W. Tozer

The question is not, how much of what is mine do I give to others. The question is, how much of what is God's do I reserve for myself. The answer we give is a faith issue, a stewardship issue. William Avery

I do not believe one can settle how much we ought to give. I am afraid the only safe rule is to give more than we can spare. C. S. Lewis A lack of generosity refuses to acknowledge that your assets are not really yours, but God's.- Tim Keller
